I'm sure you would agree, any and everything related to the well-being of a child is of significant importance. Especially in the area of medications, given that children are not responsible for their own healthcare- we as adults are! Bearing that in mind, we as responsible adults should seek to understand as much as possible about cough and cold medications BEFORE giving them to children, so as to not betray an innocent child's trust and confidence, or worse...Comments?

I found that CNN had a blurb if you want to call it about children and cold medications. I looked it up on CNN.com and the link is http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0710/20/hcsg.01.html. It was a show that aired on October 20, 2007called, "House Call with Dr. Sanjay Gupta". They had several topics on this show, but one was the child medication topic that we are discussing. The just of the discussion was a story of a mother who had lost her child from the medication that a doctor had recommend the child take. Take a look at the transcripts, it was interesting.
after recalling several days of seeing the news and receiving emails about taking certain children's meds off the shelf, the media is saying PLEASE DO NOT HAPHAZARDLY GIVE CHILDREN MEDICATION...DUH. in other words be smart enought to research...the FDA's approval does not mean you (the parent) gets a free pass to not do additional research. in these instances the media does not appear to stigmatize the makers of these medicines yet they bring light to the fact that additional research is ALWAYS a smart/loving measure for the parent and child
